A trip to Mycenae inspired me to make many artworks based on the tragedies that are meant to have occurred there, the plays written about this possible apocryphal history and the poems of Georgios Sefaris, which weave together the intricacies of a complex, mythology-laden history with the struggles of modern Greece. Greece is full of ancient ruins, some of which lie atop other ruins. In my series about Greece, I try to suggest the simultaneity of many histories by layering and manipulating images.
